“Though She Be But Little, She Is Fierce”

Maggie Piper is making her film debut in “Royal Ashes” as Annabelle Royal, the youngest sibling of four brothers. Now a third grader, Maggie is following in her older sister, Lucy’s, footsteps in pursuing acting. Lucy is featured as Lisa Brennan in CPP’s movie “Found.” She did a such great job and was such a delight to work with, CPP producers had to ask themselves if lightening could strike twice. It can. Maggie though a few years younger, was every bit as professional and talented as her big sister. Director David Alford remembers, “I never had a single worry working with Maggie. She was so easy and enjoyable to work with as an actor and a person. She came prepared and turned it on every time I said “action”. I truly couldn’t believe this was her first film. There were long shooting days, when I would become concerned for her endurance because she was so very young, but that spark never wavered for one take no matter how late it got. She was incredible. It was funny because after scenes were completed, there were many times when actors would have to gather around a microphone and do ADR work where they would say their lines again in full voice to cover up potential sound issues that occurred during the scene. The lines had to be exact since they would be synced up with faces on camera. The actors could not change a syllable, or it would look really strange on screen. I can’t tell you how many times an actor would accidently change a line and Maggie would lean into them and tell them the correct line. They weren’t even her lines, but she was usually right!”

When not acting, Maggie enjoys some of her favorite hobbies including dancing, volleyball, and reading. She also loves playing with her sister Lucy, and her puppy Daisy. We look forward to seeing Maggie and Lucy in future CPP productions. Everyone in the cast commented the day after Maggie wrapped her role and was no longer called on set that a little bit of sunshine had left the production and they wanted her back! Fortunately, that sunshine is captured on camera, and you can see Maggie’s performance in “Royal Ashes” on streaming platforms online starting November 1, 2022 or you can order the DVD of “Royal Ashes” right now in our CPP shop Products (crosspurposes.productions).
