Ariane Ireland is no stranger to the stage or screen, she’s done numerous theatrical productions both in the states and Ireland, she done a web series and a true crime tv show in New York. She’s even done national commercials. But “Royal Ashes” is Ariane’s first experience in a feature film and it fell into her lap in a small Virginia town in the Appalachian Mountains Ariane plays Jenny, the Royal’s new next door neighbor. Single, starting a new job and on her own for the first time, Jenny struggles to balance the transition from her old troubled way of life to a new beginning in a new community. She is quickly pulled into the drama that is the Royal family and immediately finds herself loving her new friends and up to her neck in trouble.
Ariane had heavy competition against some tremendous talent for the role of Jenny but won it in the end after several rounds of auditions. Director David Alford recounts, “Ariane had such a natural flow on camera that quickly caused the viewer to forget she was acting. There was an ease in Jenny that made sense with the character. It wasn’t until Ariane started playing opposite the other actors at the auditions that we knew she was the one. She brought that ease but she was also engaged with the other characters in a way that was authentic and captivating. I’ve known and directed Ariane since she was about twelve. And it’s great to see how her acting has grown with her.”
